Bruce to Pilot Gers
Bruce Dickinson is set to pilot the Gers (that's Rangers Football Club in Scotland - not Janick) to Israel for their match on Wednesday with Hapoel Tel-Aviv.It's not the first time Dickinson has met up with the Rangers team though. Believe it or not, Ibrox boss Walter Smith is a keen rock fan and was introduced to the singer during his first spell at the club 11 years ago through then-Rangers captain Terry Butcher.
He specifically asked to fly the Ibrox men to the Israeli capital when he learned that the charter firm had landed the contract.
Rangers manager Walter Smith told the club's website: "I know their stuff quite well.
"I remember going to meet the band when they played in Edinburgh a few years ago.
"I would never have thought that Bruce would be flying our plane."
