Blaze a Wacken
Check this good review about Blaze's performance at Wacken 2002 on Metalgospel.com. Unfortunatly the web site ignored Bruce Dickinson concert - “Hartmuth: We got some dinner (overpriced as Hell) and some BRUCE DICKINSON (from afar… sounded ok but nothing spectacular) to bridge the time until CANDLEMASS started to play.”[Hartmuth: After a 15 minute rain squall which we spent hiding at a beer stand (o.4 liters of beer = 3 Euro) we got to see BLAZE. The short rain had settled the black dust that was everywhere and for almost 50 minutes things felt like they would turn out right. We couldnīt have been more wrong… BLAZE was really cool and since we had met some more net friends in the meantime we were a happy little crowd banging our heads away. BLAZE showed impressively that heīs off much better without MAIDEN and that he can very well stand and survive on his own.]
I completely agree. BLAZE was the hightlight of Thursday for me. To be honest I wasnīt expecting that much since I donīt own any of his solo material and was very soured by his work with MAIDEN but this night has changed my view entirely. A kick ass and very powerful performance ! Now Iīve just got to go out and purchase some BLAZE albums…
