I don't want to go into politics or US-bashing, but I think they had it coming and that the current arrogance of the US government shows it plainly. It's sad for the people who lost their lives and for their families, but who remembers Dresden, a German city rased to the ground by the US Air Force at the end of WWII. The number of victims was substantially higher than that of the WTC, and the bombing was uncalled for (unlike that of NY and Pentagon) and unnecessary. Should we wave a German flag to commemorate that too? And this is only one example of many exactions the US have committed abroad… 
Let the US wallow in their self-pity and carry on with our lives. The right question any American should ask is not “why did they do that?”, but “why do they hate us so much?” A little bit of introspection wouldn't hurt a nation that's gone so self-righteous that they forgot there is a “rest of the world”.
Enough of this, let's go back to discussing music!
