Maiden has met, start recording Jan. 6

on November 16, 2002 @ 05:28

This doesn't come from any article, but by a review of a Nicko gig in Italy (nov. 6th). It was posted on the official BB and is credited to MetalDreamer, a BB member.
Here what Nicko stated:

"We’re all meeting in London on Monday to start writing songs for the new Iron Maiden album!"
"We’re starting recording on Jan. 6th.!"

This means that Maiden re-united last Monday! Please note: This is not officially confirmed so treat it as a rumour

Whos fighting then? wink.gif
And just for the record, I've no problem about rumours on the news page as long as they say they are rumours. This is a fansite after all and thats what fansites do best - start and spread rumours wink.gif

That's not good for me. The thing is if you post rumors in the main page you loose credibility. People thing " ah that site is just starting rumors". I think we need a place just for the rumors in the forum. The main page is just for the news. That's why I always put the source. But hey I'm not the owner of this site so you can do whatever you want. It's just my opinion about it.

yeah i can see that point of view and ideally i'd have a rumours news page but the forum wont let me have two news pages :\
The good thing is though if the rumours turn out to be true you get credit for being first with the story and if it doesnt you can say well it was only a rumour anyway. I think its a win win situation wink.gif

As long as you clearly state it's a rumour, then it's ok IMO. If it's a rumour but you don't say so, then that's losing credibility.

I know that but we can have a rumors place just like the "Unapproved News Forum". If the rumors becomes News we move it to the main page. Piece of cake.

"The good thing is though if the rumours turn out to be true you get credit for being first with the story and if it doesnt you can say well it was only a rumour anyway. I think its a win win situation wink.gif"

Yeah but that's a risk situation 'cause if don't turn out to be true you're just a rumors spreader. And the risk is your credibility, once you loose it you're dead.

But if you're saying that's a rumour why post it like News? Make no sense to me. You're just spreading a rumour, then that's losing credibility.

#4465, November 17, 2002 @ 16:33

You're not spreading it. You're posting it on a website as a rumour. Spreading it is treating it as fact.

#4466, November 17, 2002 @ 17:06

Anonymous said:

That's my point... if you're posting it as a rumour you can post it wherever you want, not in the News page, 'cause is not a fact so it's not news.

It's just the latest Maiden events-true or rumour. Like RW said, it might not be rumour. Who can tell?

I wouldn't get it as far a "you post a rumor, lose your credibility and you're dead". It's a Maiden fan page and I don't think it will no more read if few rumors are put on the main page.

Sometimes, we get articles about Maiden from serious newspaper and would take the info as granted and then see it turned out not true either.

But I understand your point Shaman. Could be nice to have a 'news from the world' page and a 'rumours' page, both on the main site.

Now, who wants to start a new Majesty of Gaia news to have fun tongue.gif

Cheers

An official source can confirm or deny a piece of information or you can try check it out in a magazine, a web site from a band, a press release etc...

If you post "a rumor" like you said no problem, but keep doing that and you're dead. NO one will trust you, so someday when you have a good piece of info people will not believe in you.
