"If 40 years in the rock 'n' roll industry isn't a good enough reason for a celebration then what is?
Water was turned into wine at the Marshall 40th anniversary celebration dinner and a great time was had by all. The man himself, Mr. Jim Marshall took to the stage and ordered all in attendance, including artists that use Marshall, Marshall dealers from across the world, Marshall suppliers and Marshall employees, to have a great night and enjoy themselves, and that we did.
The Marshall dealers were given the opportunity to thank Mr. Marshall. Gifts, including a giant dum skin from Germany (Mr. Marshall's was a renowned drummer before starting the company) and a poster from the USA signed by great guitarists such as Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Zakk Wylde, Kerry King and Pete Townshend to name but a few . . . .
Iron Maiden drummer and long time friend of Mr. Marshall Nico McBrain played the skins for Jim accompanied by Jazz Lochrie of Bad Company on bass and various guitarists, including Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, Dave 'Bucket' Colwell of Bad Company and Marshall demonstrator Chris George. The set consisted of classics such as, Voodoo Chile, Purple Haze, Honky Tonk Woman, Alright now and Can't Get Enough. It topped a great night. A big thank you goes out to all that made the night a special and memorable one."
