Bruce Dickinson in Heavy Rock Singing Book

on February 24, 2003 @ 14:06

Bruce Dickinson is one of the 30 singers interviewed for the Book "PRO SECRETS OF HEAVY ROCK SINGING". Check out:

B o o k E x c e r p t s - From Chapter 4 - Warming Up

"Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden): When I’m warming up I like to produce my head voice with my mouth closed and my teeth together. I’ve got this sort of manic grin on my face, and I try to shake my teeth loose—the front teeth—until the whole front of my face is vibrating. When I can do that fairly effortlessly, I join up the other two spaces. I will take a note—not singing loudly necessarily—and just hold it and vibrate, internally, this little space in my head. I’ll move it around so the front of my nose, the back of my nose, my teeth and everything are humming like tuning forks. I try to keep that note as long as I possibly, possibly, possibly can without any tension in my throat muscles."
