Bruce Dickinson Won't Miss Limp Bizkit at Download

on May 15, 2003 @ 12:11

IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson popped in to BBC's Radio 1 Tuesday night (May 13) to chat about the upcoming Download festival, which is set to take place later this month at Donington Park in England.

When asked if he was disappointed about LIMP BIZKIT pulling out of the event, Bruce said, "Well, you know…it's erm…no! Personally, I'd want to see AUDIOSLAVE than LIMP BIZKIT any day of the week. I don't think people are going to get any less for their money by not seeing Fred Durst with his baseball cap on the wrong way. From the point of view of our tickets sales, it makes no different because ya boo sucks, we sold more tickets than they did anyway. Oops! (laughs)."

As previously reported, LIMP BIZKIT have promised fans some free European events to try and make amends. They pulled out because they need to concentrate on finishing their album, currently called "Panty Sniffer", which has already been delayed.

Download takes place on May 31 and June 1. In addition to IRON MAIDEN, the lineup of performers includes MARILYN MANSON, AUDIOSLAVE, ZWAN, SEPULTURA and H.I.M.

Welll I do consider them as metal. But that is NOT the same as deserving to be called metal.

It seems Bruce can understand good music. He probably didn't want Fred Durst following him around the festival acting like they know each other.

...but...but...they have a DJ!! And every band with a DJ is good right? That's why all the good music is made nowadays, when every band has a DJ! Right?! wink.gif

I DON'T THINK SO ohmy.gif Maybe for you, and I respect your opinion, BUT come on, Rock band and DJ is a bad mixture I think - specially in live performances. I saw on TV a Linkin Park gig and their DJ looks like a weird clown jumping in front of his "instrument".

I'm sure he was joking.

The reason a lot of these bands put a DJ in is to cover up how fucking horrible the guitarists are. Maiden doesn't need a DJ, neither do Judas Priest, Queensryche or any other great metal band.
