No full set list on the American tour?

on July 22, 2003 @ 13:15

Well, at least on Iron Maiden first gig of the American leg of 'Give Me Ed...Til I'm Dead' Tour 2003, in Worcester( Centrum Centre), the band played less songs than the European leg. According to Nicko McBrain words on his Diary section at Iron Maiden official web site, the band had to cut 3 tunes from their set list - '22 Acacia Avenue', 'Heaven Can Wait' and '2 Minutes to Midnight' - as there are three bands on the bill and not enough time to play the entire set list.

Can anyone tell me in what order motorhead and dio are in?
that is is it dio, motorhead then maiden
or motorhead, dio then maiden?
and also about est time per band I know maiden is about 90mins per nickos diary.

How was security getting to U.S. gigs? full cavity searches or do you think I can get a disposable camera in?
thanks in advance for anyone who answers this reply

from what i've heard its motorhead, dio, then the almighty maiden, but i've also heard that dio is playing bullshit solos for all the instruments which is cutting maidens time. i mean, sure dio is great and all, but fuck that hes not hte headliner. yes its true without ronnie james dio metal wouldnt be the same, but he is aged, and like other aged products (milk maybe?), any more than a little bit of it will get you sick to your stomach. i still look forward to seeing him perform, i just dont want him up for more than 40 mins. i also look forward to motorhead. i've liked them for a while now, but i'm flipping out at the fact that i get to see MAIDEN! i was driving on the jersey turnpike (i'm seeing the jones beach show), and i saw the tour sign at the raritan toll plaza and i just went insane in the car! headbang.gif ALL HAIL MAIDEN bowdown.gif

I went to that Maiden show in Worcester, the security was like non existent, they barely patted ya down as you were going through the door. Motorhead played like 25 minutes or so, Dio played around 45, and then 90 for Maiden. I was disappointed that they cut those 3 songs, but what can ya do. Hopefully I can make it to the MSG show next week and see 'em again. Oh yeah, and another thing, $35 for a t-shirt. Crazy. Especially since the tickets were $38.50.

Yeah that's a shame, they should cut 'The Clansman' instead.

You're completly right, the shame is to cut, but if you have to do that, cut a song that have been on the setlist for the last 2 tours. Why cut songs that fans really want to hear and not have been played for the last 10 years or something?

Well...I saw Maiden last night in Hartford, and to say the least, I was disappointed. Only 7 songs from 1988 and earlier and far too much from Fear of the Dark and Brave New World. They should scrap the opening acts and play longer (only 1 hr., 10 minutes). Also, it seemed that Bruce was far more concerned with denograting Corporate America...Very disappointing.

huh.gif With Maiden's popularity and wealth, i'm sure they could have played a bit longer.....I mean, whats gonna happen? Are they gonna pull the plug on em'? lol[1].gif
I'm going to the MSG gig, and I would really like to hear 'Heaven can wait', '22 acacia avenue' being that americans havent heard those tracks in years. That bothers me. Just cut Dio and Motorhead's set jeeze.........
