What about Dream of mirrors? 22 acacia? revelations?

Lord of the Flies should be replaced by Heaven Can Wait or something...
Can I play with Madness by... um... well I would love Infinite Dreams! smile.gif

It's a good setlist though, it's great with some variation, not playing the same songs all the time!

"Sucks" is too much, but there's been better setlists.

I think it's good with Lord of the Flies instead of Sign of the Cross or The Clansman. Maiden need to play different stuff, and after a all-the-old-classics tour (Give me Ed...) variation is good. In that point of view, this setlist is good.

Forget dream of mirrors, 22acacia and revalations...

What happened to Evil that men Do?
Wicker Man?
Ghost Of The Navigator?
Blood Brothers?
Out Of The Silent Planet?
Wasted Years?
Age Of Innocence?

Wrathchild Infinite Drems?

Need I say More?

It's an amzing set list, but it's lacking...

Definitely needed at least 1 more BNW track.

Can't wait to see them mind you... Birmingham NEC here I come... bowdown.gif bowdown.gif bowdown.gif bowdown.gif bowdown.gif biggrin.gif

Well, I was there in the first gig, in Debrecen, Hungary, and I can guarantee that this setlist doesn't suck, not even a little bit! The whole show is brilliant, the stage set is really cool! There were excellent special effects in between the songs, and even some poems interpreted by Bruce Dickinson!

Want to know more? wink.gif Ask me! I was there!!! smile.gif))

The set list is rubbish. I've been going see Maiden for years and I'm sick of them playing the same songs every year, with a few new ones thrown in.

The 15 songs are broken down by album as follows:

6 songs off Dance of Death
3 songs off Number of the Beast (same 3 they play at every gig, ever)
1 off 7th Son (nice surprise, good song but the least great song on the album IMO)
1 off Piece of Mind (The Trooper!! what a surprise...)
1 off Brave New World (title track, long song - they could easily play 2 rockers like Whicker Man & Aces High instead)
1 off X Factor (Lord of the Flies - good, but not as good as Man on the Edge)
1 off Fear of the Dark (title track instead of Be Quick? madness...)
1 off Iron Maiden (title track again - yawn! What's wrong with Charlotte or Prowler?)

It seems as though 5 of their albums don't have a single song worth playing live - Killers, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, No Prayer and Virtual XI. Pull the other one!

I'm going to see them at the Newcastle Arena, Dec 3rd - I'll still enjoy the gig but my optimism has been dampened a bit by this - I hope they change it round a bit. They've got 13 albums to choose from but pick 9 songs from 2 albums!? They could easily pick a couple of songs off each of the 5 albums not featured and it would be a quality gig.

I know you can't please all of the people all of the time and that, but Maiden are just getting too predictable these days...

And we've got some unkown Welsh band supporting instead of the excellent Gamma Ray - what are Maiden playing at?!

dika666, I see your point. And - statistically - you are right. However, I have been there in the gig, and there I felt that the new songs are so full of power and emotions that they compensate for the other songs -- which are not surprising. You will see it for yourself if you go to a DoD gig. I personally say that if Maiden had not played any songs from the previous albums, the gig would still worth the same! The layout of the whole gig is such strongly related to the Dance Of Death album that is indeed a one-album show! They put in the other songs only out of sheer habit.

The whole album – and therefore the whole show – is focused on DEATH. Death in fiction and death in real life. Deaths in our history, deaths in the present days and deaths in the future. Well, not necessarily the event when someone's death comes, but the MOOD of death: even Eddie (who is otherwise an undead zombie) went out to be Death itself: the Grim Reaper! So how the hell do the other songs of other topics fill in this theme and mood? Don't you think it would spoil everything in the show? Well, I do think so! And I must think that Maiden considered this thing too.

OK - if Death is the theme .... how about:-

Only the good die young
No prayer for the dying
Die with your boots on
Heaven can wait
Powerslave
Killers

Lord of the flies ?
'Who ate all the pies' more like

They are always going to play the majority of the songs from the new album. Its just a shame theyre all so long or we could have a few move rockers in there.
Why they dont play anything from Powerslave I will never know

Overall an excellent unpredictable set list 'BUT' where are all those lost gems that were played on the 'Give me Ed' tour??????

eg 'Die with your boots on' and 22 Acacia Avenue!!!!

There isn't even '2 minutes to midnight'!!!!!

BAH!

I missed that last tour 'cos it was at Donington and all the other bands were shit!

Even Metallica's surprise set is not really big news these days!

Mind you.....at least Limp Bizkit failed to show....and that's a blessing.

It seems that every time they do a pre-tour the set list is always better!

Look back at the set for the 'Ed Hunter' tour in 1999 for proof of this.

I can't confirm this yet, but apparently today, in the Prague gig, Maiden played a bigger setlist. Well, not that big... they've added Wrathchild as second song in the set.

Funeral for a Friend is supposed to be pretty good...
Remember what would have happened if KISS hadn't let some unknown East End London Band support it back in 1980.

Regarding the setlist: I like the addition of Lord of the Flies and Can I Play With Madness. We have The Evil That Men Do, The Clansman, Sign of the Cross on Rock in Rio. If I want to hear a live version of those songs, this is where I'll go.

The Give Me Ed Tour was all about playing for the old fans the old songs they love. You say that tour had a better setlist than this one? I disagree! That tour I already have most, if not all, of the songs on the three big live albums. I'm more ecstatic about seeing the new songs live than I would be seeing the old songs.

Brave New World? Simply a smashing live song.

The NOTB trio. Here I will admit I'd rather see one of these three songs played...much better, more variety, but I think the guys like playing it. They are all good live songs too.

I can't wait to hear Lord of the Flies.

And about the setlist in the US/Canada: Yeah, we had Motorhead and Dio. But Maiden had to cut out a bunch of songs as a result...so be careful what you wish for.
