He told us :
1. that all concerts on Give Me Ed tour will be recorded (about 3, 4 cameras)
2. There will be a new DVD from that tournee.
3. These incoming DVD will be similiar to A Real LIVE DEAD One - one song/one city or one song and 3 - 4 cities.

again!? Not another live album!

I don't know nothing about Audio version. Johnny talked only about dvd.
second- I don't know when they're going to realese it . You know - hammersmith odeon 1982 was also recorded and as we all now that show was broadcasted only in english tv.
Third - they may realese that dvd as a bonus cd!!! Same as Manowar did it - e.g. warriors of the world united or as Running Wild - Live (Special Edition with dvd)

So don't worry too much lambada.gif

I really hope it comes with the new album and it's not another live release. We really don't need that. Live b-sides, enhanced sections or free DVD with the album is all I really need. I won't buy another live DVD/album by them.

Okay lets quell this

Firstly Johnny is hoping to record every concert but because of stupid American union rules he cannot record some concerts. If he is seen using a video camera they will fine the band sometimes as much as $40,000. `he did however record every european concert. They are also recording every concert using a very expensive Pro Tools rig which records 36 tracks of audio every night. Everything is done on Apple Macs because they are so reliable.

The reason he is recording every concert is because there is only him filming. This means he cannot record every band member, every song, every concert so ..... he records different things different nights. By the time the tour is finished he should have, every band member, every song from every angle

As the band have more than one set of stage clothing and the fact their wardrobe lady Luci performs miracles every day the band are "seen" to wear the same clothes so this helps continuity.

As to what is happening with the footage .... nobody knows yet. The tour doesn't finish to summer next year so by the time Steve and Johnny get in the studio and go through the footage it will be at least 18 months - 2 years before anything is edited and released.

I hope there is nobody that disagrees with me that Rock In Rio was worth the wait. Whatever is done with the future "World Tour Video" it will be as awesome and in 5.1 surround sound like Rio. Johnny is also filming candid stuff, fan stuff and "making of's" and interviews with all the crews for PROPER behind the scenes extras.

As to guys who cannot afford it Steve and Johnny are more aware than ANYBODY that they do not want to saturate the Maiden market with releases. Why do you think you haven't seen any release of the Clive Burr footage yet ? which Johnny organised as an 6 camera shoot all three nights (under the guidance of long term video expert and Maiden icon Laz).

I would imagine the first time you see any of this footage will be video extras on CD singles and DVD singles etc.

So ends the gospel according to "TGD"

Whatever Maiden do to make the product the best they can for the fans, some bugger moans. You cannot please all the fans all the time. It is impossible and NO BAND IN HISTORY has ever done it as some buggers in this world are NEVER satisfied. We feed these people to EDDIE. Be happy the band are filming all this shit so you can see it in the future and trust them to release it at the right time.

If there are things you think Johnny should film or backstage items you would like to see as future extras why not let him know.

I met Johnny B again at Chicago gig last sunday and he remembered me from Zlin! He said they didn't film all the gigs in the US as at some of them crowd is bad etc. Maybe he mentioned the restrictions at some venues, I don't remember. He said that at the moment they have got one song finished (I understand it'll be used as a future b-side or on some DVD single?) but he doesn't know yet when the DVD will be released. But he's not filminf everything himself! He said in Zlin that they're usually using 2 cameras at each gig but on some of them (probably festivals like Waldrock) they even use 4 or more! headbang.gif BTW the band doesn't wear the same clothes all the time - Dave had been changing his shirt a few times during first gigs of tour (but maybe they didn't film it as Nicko started to using his new drumkit since Donington) and Jan still wears a few different clothes each night (A Real Live One shirt and jeans/Edward The Great shirt or BNW clothes) so maybe they won't be able to use some of the footage because of that... Johnny B is such a cool guy! Do anybody now an email to him as I'd like to write some thanks to him in future... BTW I really hope the DVD will have a lot of extras as bonus stuff on Rock In Rio was to short! If they will do at least 2 hours of documentary - that would be cool! headbang.gif Fans would love to see how each gig is being prepared, see how the crew is setting the stage, what each memeber of the crew is doing etc.! Quite same like Metallica did with Cunning Stunts. I hope Maiden will do a DVD with such extras! I also hope they will film Dance Of Death tour as well and do a mega DVD pack with 2 tours included! headbang.gif

Firstly Johnny B never said that he wasn't filming gigs because the American crowds were bad. What he said to you was that he felt the American system of making all the poor punters stay in their seats meant that the crowd reaction can never be as good as in Europe.

Johnny B films the gigs himself. He filmed last nights concert with 3 cameras all which he operates by static fix leads or remote. OBVIOUSLY he cannot operate manually more than 1 camera at a time. He will always be found filming the one he thinks is in the best position. Waldrock for example he had 4 cameras. One for a static fixed camera, one called " The Nicko Cam" which is suspended above nickos drum kit and one he shot himself from the Disabled platform. He great buddy Eric (who is the cool dude that runs the Dutch division of the Maiden fan club) operated the fourth camera for him.

The band HAVE been wearing the same shirts of tour in the USA. OF COURSE the odd night they might wear different shirts if they have friends their that give them special shirts to wear etc (dave Murray wore one last European gig) but generally they do. You must take everything so literally.

The dance of death tour WILL be filmed in its entirety if Johnny B has anything to do with it. Also for mthe first time Maiden are allowing the filming of their next promo video. Coll extra for future DVD.

Johnny B has already filmed a fantastic DVD extra with Nicko. It took two days and involves all the people and factories that were involved in the making of his new EDDIE drum kit.
