Delay of The Q&A: Explanation of Official BB Mod

on February 27, 2004 @ 18:07

In a thread started at the Official Iron Maiden BB asking about what happened to the Q&A that was supposed to have been answered 7 months ago, a BB moderator, ALF, gave a rather dissapointing update on the matter. This is what he had to say:

It was requested that the Moddies submit additional questions, because the majority of those submitted were not worthy of the band's time.

The few good questions were truly buried under a mountain of silly demands, requests and inane queries. I suspect the Q & A project was scrapped because of the huge quantity of poor quality questions.

Similarly, the band was expected to join us a very long time, but that didn't happen either, probably due to the slagging, spamming, vulgarity, childishness and bad attitudes of a few BB'ers. We have been getting hints of this over the years from direct and indirect sources in the band and management, so it shouldn't come as a great surprise. The demise of our beloved General Chat forum was due to just a few, persistent bad posters.

In the end .... it is what you've made it.

Additionally, Skunk is not the problem. Among her MANY professional duties at Sanctuary, babysitting the Maiden board was not intended to be her focus. She very graciously gave of her personal time to keep this board floating despite the efforts of a few to bring it down. Skunk is now very busy with her intended duties, we are charged with trying to keep a lid on this.

Management has generally deemed that all this spamming, slagging, vulgarity and childishness is a waste of server and bandwidth, so it is by a thread that we hang on. Among all the troublemakers we are a core of die-hard Maiden fans, who despite all the stupidity and fighting remain loyal to the boys and to the Official site that bears their name.

We are the Maiden board.

Up the FREAKIN' Irons.

I'm not surprised. Sure so many people would ask silly questions that are always on the official BB (like anti-Gers questions, anti-Blaze questions, why-don't-you-come-to-my-country questions,...).

Sad, but true.

Cheers

Now, why aren't I surprised?

The official Maiden BB is full of morons who posts all sorts of stupid messages. It's sad for those who'd have interesting threads, but they're welcome here! happy.gif

Thats the problem really with Q&A's
In general most people dont want to know about the band they want selfish things like when are you coming to my country which you only played last week.

Personally, I can say to you, that the official BB is full of s**t.
Last time I replied there to the Maiden Talk forum was a long ago, since 99% of the threads are always the same, talking about the same stupid stuff. Sometimes, there's a good interesting thread written by a long time fan who's disgusted of the BB.
I think you all have already seen all the garbage people write there.

It's a waste that good, decent questions haven't been answered and are not gonna be answered by the band at this time, because I think many fans would be interested in the different answers of the band.

Bye

It used to be a good BB. But then the 'trouble-makers' got banned and only the worthless n00bs were left and it wasn't fun anymore.

The IMBB has some 20,000 registered members and it's normal to see a lot of prats there. The thing is, those prats are those who post the most... unsure.gif

To give an example, a certain Goddess who used to post here registered on 4th May 2003 and has now well over 25,000 posts!!!. Needless to say, the posts aren't of the most intelligent kind and it makes you wonder what kind of life (outside of the IMBB that is), if any, these people may have... blink.gif

At least at Maidenfans, we try to privilege quality over quantity! cool.gif
