Iron Maiden Gives Spain a Boost in Taxes

on May 6, 2004 @ 12:46

According to recent official spanish reports, Iron Maiden was a very bankable artist ...for the state.

In regards of concert tax collecting in 2003, Maiden was the third in attendance behind only Bruce Springsteen and Mana in the region of Asturias and the second most seen in the Galicia region, behind Mana.

It is pointed out that the surge (+85% tax collection in the Asturias) in gig happenings might be a sign of the industry fighting piracy.

The Saint, the articles refer to the money collected as royalties concept by the Spanish Writers and Performers Society.

Yes, I understood that. I didn't want to enter into too many details and since these royalties collectors are state-owned, I made a shortcut biggrin.gif

Thanks for pointing it out for the others to know anyway.

Cheers
