Ronnie James Dio Was at Maiden Show
Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Ammot writes in his latest tour diary:SSSSSCREEAAAAM FOR ME, LOS ANGELES! ! ! Well, I am no Bruce Dickinson maybe…but myself, and the rest of the Arch Enemy crew have sure had a blast here in L.A...2 nights @ the Universal Amphitheatre - it was awesome! Both the shows were really, really cool! Tomorrow morning we fly to Japan...2 huge arena shows in Tokyo and Osaka - that sounds like some serious fun! We always have such a killer time in Japan - I can't wait! This will actually be my 10th visit to the land of the rising sun...first time was on Arch Enemy's first tour in 1997...crazy. Oh, yeah..when got offstage @ the show last night there was familiar figure hanging out backstage...it was Ronnie James Dio!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap...eh, diver!!!!! It was a true honour to meet him and discuss music and drink a few beers, he was very complimentary about Arch Enemy - which was just really cool, to be honest we were all just a bit shocked you know...he is THE vocal GOD of the hard rock/metal genre...no question about that!
