Spanish Number Of The Beast Single Delayed

on December 29, 2004 @ 15:08

Maidenzone.com has received the confirmation from EMI Spain that the special 'Number of the Beast' anniversary single is delayed one week, now slated for a January 10th release.

The record company just wants to avoid a void week, many people still being in holidays.

It is unclear if this change will happen in other European countries. So far, only Poland will see such a delay.
As far as Maidenfans.com knows, the single release has been left unchanged in the other major territories (UK, France, Italy and Germany).

Maidenzone.com also states that the NOTB picture disc might not be released in Spain after all, a bad news for all the spanish Maiden fans.

Update: it appears that the vinyl is a UK-only release. Stores outside the home country of Maiden will have to import it by themselves

Finally, it seems that EMI Spain wasn't totally clear about the exclusivity the Lorca Festival took on Maiden. It appears that the festival promoters paid a substantial sum of money to ensure that the band wouldn't play any other spanish date, but this still remains to be confirmed.

Am I the only one who feels Maiden is being exploited? I don't think all this is being backed by the band.

i don't know if explited is the right word, but I think that if maiden didn't like what he record company does with them and their music, they always have the choice of quitting EMI and Sanctuary, I'm sure that every record label in the world would like to have maiden...
