B L A Z E Working on New Material

on February 21, 2005 @ 15:18

It was confirmed last night that B L A Z E are now working on new material for the upcoming studio album - the first to feature none of the original line-up [besides Bayley himself]. Oli Palotai, the band's guitarist, posted this information on the official forum:

Hi guys,

Guess things are a bit confusing these days. I read a few topics with questions about this year's activities and the band line up. Here is what I can say so far.

Yes, Dani is the new Helloween drummer. It is a great chance for him and he will be working in a creative and economical environment that enables him to concentrate 100% on this project - a position that is very rare in today's music business. He is one of my best friends and although I don't know if he can do any further BLAZE gigs, I am very proud of him.

In Italy we played with Wayne on bass again. The reason for this is that Nick lives in the US and it is quite too expensive to fly him over for one gig. But I feel as well supported on stage with Wayne as I do with Nick - both are great musicians and good friends.

Blaze, Luca and me are working on the new songs for the next record. I was very glad to notice that we function as a fantastic team in song writing. Guess we will try some of the new songs in upcoming live situations to see how the fans react. Besides of this there won't be too many gigs the coming months probably. We want to concentrate on the new material and then do a well prepared tour, maybe end of this year or early 2006.

I will be out with Doro, Kamelot and Uli Jon Roth during spring and summer. Would be great to see some BLAZE fans around and I hope we get the chance to meet and talk somewhere.

I'm looking forward to see how this will sound without John and Steve...
