Broker Starts Selling UK Maiden Ticket Options

on February 19, 2005 @ 22:51

Getmetickets, a ticket broker company, has started selling options for Reading and Leeds Maiden tickets.

Even if they could just have copied the information that Iron Maiden could headline these shows, it leads towards a potential confirmation of the shows in a near future:

That's interesting.

But, they're brokers. Meaning, they are not really ticket sellers, but ticket "resellers": they guarantee you to find a ticket at an estimated price: price that could be inflated when the date is closer, meaning they could be looking side ways to find tix.

So, it could mean they just took the news that Maiden could headline these festivals and transformed it in a resell. If the Maiden doesn't happen, they will refund.

Still, if they believe it, it could mean they might have additionnal info on the accuracy of the rumor.

Cheers

Leeds just got its licence:

A public entertainments licence was granted yesterday for Leeds Festival, which takes place at Bramham Park, near Wetherby over the August Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August.

For this, the third year at Bramham Park, councillors considering the application had just one letter objecting to the festival, and West Yorkshire Police had no objections. The licence was granted for 52,500 people, the same number as last year.

Melvin Benn, Mean Fiddler MD, said of the decision, "This is great news. Last year’s festival once again demonstrated that Bramham Park is the perfect venue for the North’s only music festival and we can now look forward to another three days of great music and world famous bands in 2005."

No acts have been confirmed yet - the first announcements are expected in the second half of March.

Expected headliners this year are Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, and Pixies, with others such as the Killers also expected to appear.

NME has started selling a first batch of Reading tickets, even with no band officially confirmed (should be the case in 2 weeks).

This is to avoid the rush when the line-up will be released.
