Maiden to Rip Up Belgrade ?

on February 12, 2005 @ 13:48

According to the serbian newspaper 'Politika', Iron Maiden will play Belgrade this summer.

Apparently, other local newspapers have run that same information.

Update (March 4):
It seems that the concert has less chances to happen now. Only 50% changes actually. Reasons are unknown, but many people blame this on some promoters.

Update (March 19):
Negociations could be under way for a Maiden gig in September, after the UK/Ireland leg of the tour.

Oh man oh man oh man...

It's a 4 days old rumor now, and I've read it only now...

And it sent shivers down me f***in' spine!!! It's about bleeding time!

The last time they were here was back in '86 (Somewhere on Tour, I was still a nipper, drools and all ) and there is really a huge number of people here dying to finally see Maiden (Metallica gig last year was huge, and this one would be even bigger cos many folks here have lost interest in Metallica, unlike with Maiden). It will be a huge party, mark my words. (a Red Star stadium would be packed, I'm sure, it's capacity is 100 000)

There's a slightest chance that someone close to band reads these forums, so 'ere's an appeal:

COME PLAY BELGRADE, FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! WE BEG YA!!!

Over & out

Off course you can come, man, it will be a blast. There were people from Croatia on Metallica last year, and it all went cool. Let's leave the damn past behind.

Although, you may not need to come. According to the promotor, it's not very likely that the gig will happen. This is what I received in a mail from them today (Komuna):

Pregovori u toku, sanse ispod 50% (Negotiations are underway, chances (for concert) are below 50%)

Somehow, I knew it would come to this... sad.gif

Something old...something new!

The newest statement from the promotor is Maiden will play Belgrade somewhere in the end of August (if they play at all), probably just before British gigs.

I know that, real nice. biggrin.gif There's a bootleg of that gig, but apparently it is of poor quality...don't know why they dropped Loneliness... out of the setlist after that. It's a classic!

And the tale goes on and on and on and on...

The newest statement from our glorious promotor is that the negotiations are still underway for the beggining of september, apparently after the UK gigs.

They should make a movie based on this, someday. dry.gif

Damn sure! I'm so sick of this tension! They will come, they won't.... (I went through the same situation last year, Metallica luckily came in Belgrade!) I really want to see Maidens in Bg, but I have some bad feeling about this... IRON MAIDEN, COME IN SERBIA!!!!! headbang.gif
