The Number of the Beast Single Released

on January 3, 2005 @ 09:05

In celebration of Iron Maiden's first official album's 25th anniversary (also their 30th anniversary as a band), Maiden is releasing today their 1982 single The Number of the Beast, with new b'sides and a slightly edited front cover artwork. Full details on the single can be found here.

Please note that the single has unfortunately been delayed in Spain and in Poland, where it's now set for a January 10th release.

Update: According to AirRaidSyren of the Maidenfans BB, the single won't be released in Italy until January 21st

In italy the single has been delayed to the 21st January. Or at least this is what many shops say.

They better hurry with my order.

Still I think the single is lame and not because it's an old song, they didn't even bother to make new cover, include an old video on it, besides are anything but interesting. I mean, again classics from the 2002 tour. Why not include some rare stuff from the Gimme Ed, en DoD tour like Lord of the flies and revelations?

Well, I got the single just for the sake of completing my collection, but there have already been about 7 official live versions of Hallowed Be Thy Name, and even more for Number Of The Beast. I would have preferred something else, like some recording off Give Me Ed, or songs from Dance Of Death, or some rarely played old stuff.
