I work for Volkswagen who has a team of consultants from a company called Accenture. They are a MSP (Microsoft Solution Provider). One of the guys saw my desk and that I was an Iron Maiden fan from the stuff that I had. We always talk about them. Anyway, Accenture works with EMI on some Microsoft digital music venture and he has been working with EMI on this for the last year or so. He emailed this to me from EMI's internet site.

It's really far-fetched...

Too much focus on the Blaze era for it to be a success, let's be clear.

Cheers

that smells like a fake. First of all, "The Second Ten Years" sounds totally dodgy. And the CD tracklists seem weird to me. I don't believe it

No chance.. What an imagination he has! One of those CD's has the same track listing as No More Lies EP, and another the same track list as on one of the Virus single CD's.

Someone should shoot him! cussing[1].gif

Isnt the Blaze era a big part of the second ten years though? If memory serves me correct he was on 2 records. I dont like Blaze but it would be a good thing to focus somewhat on him. I dont think he would have a negative effect on the success of it.

Id like some pro live footage of that era w/ him.

*What would it cost though? It would be VERY expensive.

That's the whole idea (if this is real). Rod Smallwood knows that Maiden collectors and many fans will buy whatever the band puts out. He's taking advantage of the fact that we can't help ourselves. biggrin.gif

I dont believe this is real because

a. if Maiden wanted to put out a second 10 years box set, they wouldn't sabotage it 1,5 years earlier with a b-sides compilation (Bsides Of The Beast).

b. Maiden have set to finding gigs for the History series, they wouldn't spread videos of archive gigs on a different box set.

c. The whole thing sounds a bit dodgy.

d. The first ten years had a logic to them: to make singles previously unavailable on cd available. There is no such logic for this series

Don't misunderstand me. I love the Blaze era and I would love some official live material from this period.

Now, we know that this period isn't particulary attractive to many listeners (fans and non-fans alike) and thus the item should focus more on Bruce to get attention and sales.

And, as usual, I agree with gor on his analysis.

Cheers

If this is true, I believe it's pointless and it's simply another way to make some more cash. Who needs those bsides actually? New fans. Why don't EMI and the boys put out some kind of double CD pack or something like that, instead of lauching this bloody expensive stuff?????
15 years ago it was somewhat different since early singles weren't available in the cd format (although and straight double cd would have been a good thing too)...but now...
I'm not gonna buy this new package for sure.
I dunno if there's a lot of people like me but I'm really fed up by all this double live cds, boxsets and other compilations... [I liked the early days DVD which is a real gas in my opinion]
I have nothing against this new release per se BUT I'm waiting for new blood and won't go for something else. sleep.gif
Cheers!
