but this is happening all the time !!.....to states if it gets no20 it's already something......the thing is to stay for one or even two months up there because if it falls the 3rd week is not so victory, but all the time maiden hits high in charts____no5

....because as Saint commented somewhere, maiden sells are very high the first weeks and after they fall down.... the commercial break through albums they stay, but they have a lot of air play and promotion....in states i don't think sanctuary can promote very well the album, but here in France, you see very oftenly big posters of AMOLAD in the streets____no5

The official phonographic industry website says that Maiden is fifth in France (http://www.disqueenfrance.com/classements/albums/default.asp) . Some states seem to have multiple charts system: sometimes one is based on actual sales reported by stores (like the SoundScan system in the US), sometimes it's based on record ordered by shops. And I don't know if these always include official downloads or not (in France, Maiden is 7th in the official download charts, dunno if these are counted in the main album charts...). Complex. Anyway, the charts positions are more a question of vanity and free press. Actual sales are the thing that matter, in my opinion. Cheers to all.
