Be "First to the Barrier" at Scandinavian Shows

on September 14, 2006 @ 13:33

This is your chance to be ‘First To The Barrier’ at any of the Iron Maiden shows in Finland, Sweden, Norway And Denmark listed as follows:

November
9 - Aalborg, Denmark at Aalborg Gigantium
10 - Copenhagen, Denmark at Valby
12 - Tampere, Finland at Icehall *
14 - Helsinki, Finland at Hartwall Arena
15 - Helsinki, Finland at Hartwall Arena
17 - Stockholm, Sweden at Globen *
18 - Stockholm, Sweden at Globen *
20 - Gothenburg, Sweden at Scandinavium *
21 - Oslo, Norway at Valhalla
23 - Bergen, Norway at Vestlandshallen
25 - Stockholm, Sweden at The Globe *

Please note : We will open the fan club opportuinity for the rest of the European tour later in September.

Because of the bands’ immense popularity in Scandinavia we predicted that tickets would sell out in record breaking times – and they did, with over 100,000 tickets sold within the first 24hrs. Anticipating that demand, we have held 120 standing tickets at each of the shows listed above to make sure that our fan club members would have access to tickets and also have a chance to be 'first to the barrier'. This means that as above, if you are a fan club or online club member living in one of the above countries and were unlucky and unable to buy tickets for the local shows before they sold out in record breaking time, you still have a chance of seeing the show from the front rows!

How many people will be able to get ‘First To The Barrier’? 120 tickets at each gig means that a total of 60 winners (allowing each winner to bring a friend) will be chosen.

Who can enter? You must be a member of the Iron Maiden Fan Club or Iron Maiden Online Club at the time of your submitting entry before midnight GMT Friday 29th September.

If you have a standing or seated ticket for the show, you can enter regardless of whether it's your home concert or not. If you have no ticket for the show, you can only enter for dates in your home country. You will then be required to buy 2 tickets if you are allocated two places. First access to the barrier will also be given to 200 passengers of Bruce Air 666, so if you are booked onto this flight, you should not apply for the concert you are attending - either the 18th or 25th November shows in Stockholm.

When will I find out if I have been picked? 60 lucky fanclub members will be notified by Monday 16th October, via Private Message on the ironmaidenonlineclub.com site. Please note the wristbands allowing first access to the venue are not transferable. You will be required to take proof of identity with you to the venue.

What about buying tickets? If you are selected and have no tickets or do not have standing tickets, you will be able to purchase a maximum of 2 standing tickets at the standard issue price (listed at the bottom) for each of the shows you have been selected for. Payment will be required by credit card within 7 days of being selected to be 'first to the barrier'. Please note that you will also have to cover the cost of COURIER to your home address.

What about other shows? As detailed above - we will open the fan club First To The Barrier for the rest of the European tour later in September, where entry will be subject to the applicant already having his/her own standing tickets. We very much regret that it has not be possible to arrange the necessary logistics for first to the barrier access in North America or Japan due to the layout of local venues.

What else do I need to know? This section of First To The Barrier is open to anyone who is a full or on-line member of the fan club at the time of entry, and is aged 16 years and above.

You can enter your name for as many shows as you like.

60 applicants for each show will be picked at random one month prior to the shows. These lucky fanclub members will be sent two individually numbered wristbands by registered mail to their home address (which is why you must complete the application form in full). These wristbands are not transferable, and not for sale. You will be required to have proof of identity on you at the show and this will be checked against your numbered wristband before you are given privileged access to the venue. Access to the show will be just prior to the doors opening so be sure you can be at the venue earlier (often as early as 5pm in the afternoon). Failure to arrive at the appointed meeting place in time will forfeit your chance to enter the venue by special access. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have access to www.ironmaidenonlineclub.com to pick up meeting point information that will be sent to you by Private Message approximately 24hrs before the show.

All entries must be made via this website, and the management regrets that it will not be possible to accept any applications made by post.

Please Note: Watching a show from the barrier is by nature often uncomfortable and theoretically dangerous (although to our knowledge we have never had any problems with our fans). It is your responsibility to be fit and healthy and you acknowledge that you are entering at your own risk. Management and the band cannot accept any responsibility beyond ensuring your entry to the venue as laid out above. The management can not be responsible for guaranteeing any positioning, and if you leave your place at the front of the crowd you could lose it.

Still want to be there in the front rows at the stage barrier?

Then get into the IMOC, complete the application form, and be sure to provide all required information!

Cost of standing/pitch tickets plus service charge where applicable:

Aalborg - DKK 420 + 20 = 440
Copenhagen - DKK 400 + 18 = 418
Tampere - EUR 53
Helsinki - EUR 53
Stockholm - SEK 450 + 25 = 475
Gothenburg - SEK 470 + 30 = 500
Oslo - NOK 440 + 25 = 465
Bergen - NOK 500 + 25 = 525

Note ticket costs will be charged in English Sterling and payment will be administered through the fan club by credit card details being given over the phone. Successful applicants will also have to pay the relevant courier charges as detailed above from London to their home.
