Listen Again to the WSYC Blaze Bayley Interview

on February 5, 2006 @ 14:48

SinisterMinisterX of the Maidenfans forum has posted the following summary of the interview:

"I'm listening to the interview now. Some highlights: BLAZE hopes to finish their new album before the end of 2006, with a world tour in late '06 or early '07. Blaze said he hopes that tour will include parts of North America. He said he intends to mix up the choice of Maidens songs that BLAZE plays live. He specifically said that "The Clansman" and "Como Estais Amigos" will likely be played, as well as some old Wolfsbane songs. On the other hand, Maiden songs which BLAZE has played frequently before (like "Sign Of The Cross") will likely be dropped for a while. BLAZE will be filming all their 2006 shows for a DVD that will be released around the same time as the new album. The DVD will also include some bits from the making of the new album. Blaze was asked about songs he (supposedly) helped write that wound up on Brave New World, such as "The Mercenary". He was also asked if there was any unreleased Maiden material from the Blaze era. He declined to answer those questions, saying "I can't talk about that." But he did not deny that such rumors may be true. Blaze said people with ginger-colored hair are psychopaths, and that when the Apocalypse happens it will be on a Friday. He said his favorite non-vulgar word is "Kawasaki", because of his 1979 Kawasaki motorcycle. He said he once had an accident on that motorcycle in which he almost lost his leg. When he looked at the motorcycle afterward, the odometer read 666. He also feels that the movie "Dumb And Dumber" should have won an Oscar. He said that two of his favorite albums are "Holy Diver" and "Master Of Puppets", and that he prefers Sabbath with Ozzy rather than Dio. Blaze's advice to young musicians: 1. Give up. You're never gonna make it. 2. Don't listen to anyone who tells you to give up."

Sorry about that. The story has been edited with a link to the Maiden BB topic instead of the file.

Cheers.
