Book Description
IRON MAIDEN - 30 YEARS OF THE BEAST - THE COMPLETE BIOGRAPHY , is everything it promises to be, telling the band’s story, starting at their inception all that time ago and bringing it completely up to date, as the band continue to enjoy the massive success they have become accustomed to through four decades. The ups and the downs, the splits and the reunions, the sex and the drugs; they’re all here, and the author has left no stone unturned in his quest to finally tell the true story of the band. Featuring exclusive interviews throughout with; members past and members present; colleagues and friends; managers and promoters; musicians; and many others aside. This astonishing work will eclipse everything previously available, particularly showing up the band’s official biography Run To The Hills [Sanctuary 1998] to be the sanitised, toned down and rather tedious cover up it really is.

Synopsis
Back in 1976, nobody really knew that there was an old wave of British Heavy Metal. But within 2 years of their formation, Iron Maiden had spearheaded what came to be abbreviated the NWOBHM, and as with punk the year before, a new generation of Rock musicians bought in a new wave of the genre - and in the process made loud, raw, heavy, rock the global phenomenon it is today. "Iron Maiden - 30 Years of the Beast - The Complete Biography 1976 - 2006", is everything it promises to be, telling the band's story; starting at their inception all that time ago and bringing it completely up-to-date, as the band continue to enjoy the massive success they have become accustomed to through four decades. The ups and the downs, the splits and the reunions, the sex and the drugs; they're all here, and the author has left no stone unturned in his quest to finally tell the true story of the band. It features exclusive interviews throughout with members past, colleagues and friends, managers and promoters, the ex-girlfriends, the groupies and the dealers. This astonishing work will eclipse everything previously available, particularly showing up the band's official biography "Run To The Hills" [Sanctuary, 1998] to be the sanitised, toned down and rather tedious cover up it really is. The band's first new album in 5 years, released Autumn 2006, will coincide with the publication of this book. The band's new world tour, currently in the planning stage is set to begin early 2007. October 2006 marks the 30th anniversary of the band's formation, certain to create enormous media coverage and renewing interest in Iron Maiden even further. The band still enjoy enormous success; an arbitrary re issue of the classic 'Number Of The Beast' single in Feb 2005, went straight into the British single charts at number 1, the bands 5th UK chart topper.

Hmm, sounds 'interesting', the synopsis alone contains at least three glaring errors. Just another article by another journalist writing about another band he has little clue about.

How many errors does that Synopsis have in it... Still it sounds like a good read.

So many errors in the synopsis. I wonder how many there will be in the full book :-)

I seem to remember his previous biogs of other group receiving fairly poor reviews citing reliance on previously known facts and already published interviews.

There's actually six biogs, if you count the unofficial (but pretty good) 'Infinite Dreams'.
