In a word, crap. They couldn't even think of a new font to write the album title in, so they used the Piece Of Mind one :s

I still think that it was a good idea but the cgi, come on!, IT´S AWFUL!, wtf is the reaper doing there too, it´s like a soup of everything, and that disco dance floor, disco stu had become metal?, I THINK NOT!, oh my head hurts, too... many... relations... with... no... links...
vague, that´s the word, it´s filled with nothing, it means nothing, but it looks cool, if they wanted to do a little marketing, they got it, this shit is just too weird, nice hit, but we, the fans, love content, we love to see the connection, we love histories, we love to see eddie die and revive once again, the dod cover is an island a weird island of wildest dreams and old wars, an island made with the being lost feeling, eddie is lost, forever lost.

I think there are some people on the Iron Maiden Camp that think..." Oh Maiden has such a loyal fan base, they buy everything related to the band so why spend money with high quality stuff? We can make any crap and they still buy it. Why pay lots of money to someone design a real cool Iron Maiden album cover? We can make a shit one instead and make more money out of it. Why spend a lot money in an album production? Let's make a rehearsal recording and that's ok...The fans will buy anyway..."

It's not that bad! Not as good as the Powerslave or the Piece of Mind cover but that's not possible when it's not a Riggs picture.

Its not that bad i think its better than the X factor cover dont worry i think maiden will put themselves right and start to produce classic albums covers
give the album a chance we have not heard it all yet dont slag it off when you have only heard one song.

Theyre not giving people much reason to buy the album instead of download it. The artwork is the main reason to pay for an album!

Noooooo!!! What the fuck is this? Im fucking disapointed! Even the X factor has more quality in it! And who the hell made those dancers? Fucking sucks! They look like some 5 year old bum has drawed them! The 3D drawing is like from the start of the 90's! Even futureal single cover is made better! Maybe maiden drawed the cover themself? I can understand if it's bad, but when it's totally from the ass... thats a different story! The ugliest cover i've ever seen!

Dessapointing, I expect this don`t mean nothing about the quality of the music. It seems to have been made very chip and quickly. I expect too this record would be succesful as the Brave New World, because I want big shows of Maiden, big spectacles: I don`t imagine Maiden loosing fans for their own errors or a bad work.

"I Cracked the the Code on the DOD Cover!
When the album is released, the CGI characters will be removed. What you will then see are six cloaked figures behind Eddie. On the back of the disc, you will see that the cloaked figures are acutally the band. The figures will be removing their hoods to expose their faces.
Why do I think this? Actually, people are starting to figure it out already on the BB. Notice that the character textures are different between the characters out in front with those cloaked figures in the back. They almost seem painted as opposed to CGI'd.

Well, Skunk from Sanctuary says it's real...so I'm going to go with them. I still think it is a horrible cover, though. REALLY horrible. I hope Rod & the band don't actually think that this will attract a youthful crowd. The older folks will sneer and the younger folks (like myself, 18) will see it for what it is: poorly done CG. I have flags from my fav. album covers around my room (SiT, BNW, Powerslave, PoM, and LAD) And their awesomeness has actually gotten some of my friends to start listening to Maiden, also people of the same age.
The background of the cover is kinda cool...if it was just the Eddie reaper, it would probably do what they'd hope.
maiden are renowned for their jokes, they did it to nicko and rod. they have enough money7 to do it to us.... if you have ever used the program poser you know how much of a joke it is!!!
It's not a fake! Not because I don't want it to be, but I'm sure it's the real artwork. Why would Maiden post a fake artwork on the official website?

i think its a fake maiden are playing a joke if you look carefully you can see the hooded figures in the back ground you can tell the people on the front are really crap quality compared to the reaper eddie all will be well in time
yeah but its not a funny joke so why bother? Maiden fans are notoriously quick to punish things they dont like so why risk a barrage of abuse by making a fake cover?
I hope this is the real. We have worried enough about the cover, Now it should be this one. I"m not going to in exitment anymore.

I really enjoy this Forum. I think the important fact is: is some DOD tour poster siticked in the wall of some city? If the answer is affirmative, something is clear: Eddie the Reaper and the CGI woman aren`t jokes. It`s clear that the little one in the white dog is in the official T- Shirt of the album: I would like this was a joke, because the cover of some singles as "The Angel and the gambler" or "The wickerman" are better(even the "Edward the Great" cover), and Steve and the rest are smart people with good taste.
I DO NOT like this cover.
Maiden covers should be a Killers style, no this fuckin bullshit.
