Maiden meet Sum41
Sum41 drummer stevo32 posted the following message on the band's web site:"Goons! The final show of the European tour was last night(Feb 9) in London at
Wembley Arena and it ruled. I think it was the biggest show we've ever played. I want to thank American HiFi and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones for coming out. Dickie Barret is still one of the funniest guys I've ever met. Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden came out and Dave(Baksh) and I could barely contain the swelling in our pants..."

Sum 41? Nu Metal? Me thinks you have messed up
Sum41 are pop punk aren't they? Nu-metal is totally different!

Yeah true. But then, Iron Maiden were pop back in the late 1980s, which is considered by many to be their "golden era". Pop is just music which is selling at the moment-pop is short for popular.
They're a mixture of pop punk and rap, but they're metal fans 'cause they have played with Rob Halford on MTV once, Slayer's Kerry King is in one of their videos - the one for Spider Man movie. Well, I'm not a fan but sounds good the fact that they respect Maiden a lot.

Yeah I know.
In the 80's, Maiden was very popular but they played metal music, Madonna was popular too in the 80's and her music was like shit, very commercial kind of music.
I's a bit worrying that Maiden seems to like SUM 41. I hope this do not mean that Maiden take influences from this kind of music. Maiden should stay Metall the good old Maiden thet way we all know and love.
I should mention that i havent really listen to SUM41 so maybe I should just shut up, I dont know...

Anyway, I quite like Sum 41. They know how to play guitars and they know what a guitar solo is. Not the best band in the world by any means but theyre still quite good

yeah, me too, I wanted to say the same thing, their singer blows, but their guitarist does a good job, maiden could play at 21, Other band at 19 and sum41 opening at 18:30
Sum41 are qiute entertaining and it's an old fan speaking.
They truely are big Maiden fans. Someone even reported on the official BB that one member (the guitarist I think), while on vacation at Hawai, spent all days looking for Davey's house ...much to his girlfriend annoyance 
Anyone has seen their latest video ? It seems the Trooper Eddie figure is making an appearance.

Yes me to... I think some of their songs is great... hey did anyone of you see their latest music video? The Hell Song NY or something like that... Did you see the eddie figure in it? He's together with a female doll:)
I think that SUM41 is almost OK for me.
