Beverley Knight Takes Inspiration from Maiden

Beverley Knight, responsible of multiple award-winning 1998 R&B album "Prodigal Sista" and top-ten ranking and platinum-seller 2003 "Who I am", says fans are going to be shocked by her new rock sound after taking inspiration from Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin.

"I thought, 'I'm a Midlander'. It's the home of Iron Maiden and Led Zepplin. I grew up with rock music so it was time to bring that into my music," she said according to an Ananova report.

"I'm aspiring to be someone who has a sound to her name rather than being in a genre or a box."

Her new release, the single 'Come As You Are', will hit the shelves this week, shortly followed by her fourth album 'Affirmation, on June 28.

Well, Bruce is from Sheffield.

You can check her latest video on her [official website](http://www.beverleyknight.com). A few metal shirts can be spotted (Motorhead,...)...

Anyway, it might not be R&B anymore, it's very very poppy and not rock at all

Cheers
