Here's part of Ross Halfin's diary concerning a tribute lunch organized for Jim Marshall, the amp creator (March 3rd entry):

"Nicko, from Maiden is also here.

I didn't realise Jim Marshall started out as a drummer and taught Mitch Michell, Nicko and various others to play."
