I don't WANT to believe that maiden would do an ozzfest , i respect ozzy but they just don't need to do that !!! they sell out shows in europe in 2 and a half hours so why degrade yourself??? judas priest just NEED to do things like that but their music has never been as good as maiden, exept Painkiller. I think ( know ) that maiden are at the moment also very populair by younger fans, that was different in the years of no prayer for... and fear of the dark, they have a LOT more fans than then!! THAT'S A FACT.

absolutely right! i cant believe that maiden have such a "rock steady" fans that cant see the facts!
JP did always a great job in music but:
JP have sold third of a count of sold copies that Maiden have sold.
JP (and even ozzy ) can NEVER sold out stadiums or such a big outdoor venues like Maiden. if you cant believe this just look to the past (and wait for the future.)

Maidens becoming a living rock dinosaur just like (still) rolling stones.

I think seeing Maiden under ANY circumstances is awesome. Who cares who gets top billing? leave that for the egomaniacs! Besides the fans know who's the best!
Here in "the States" we don't get a lot of festivals, so unless Maiden teamed-up with other bands (like Gimme 'Ed, we had Dio, Motorhead and Maiden), they can't make it worth their while to tour here. Hell! we're lucky if they play Run to the Hills once in a blue moon over here. Europe and elsewhere, Maiden get more airplay and exposure, here, we get crap rock and cookie cutter bands.
Ozzfest would get Maiden exposed to an audience that they couldn't otherwise tap into in the States. They'd get the exposure they deserve and they'd have the financial incentive to hit more venues. Give 'em a taste, then make them want more!

That's not true, at least not in Denver. The last 3 times Maiden played here, they played at ampitheaters which seat around 15,000 people. On the other hand, Ozzfest comes here every year and plays at the football stadium which seats 65,000 people. Ozzfest also sells out within hours here - faster than the Maiden show does. Your statement may be true for Europe or even other US cities, but it is certainly not true for all places.

i think that youre right about that for the states, but still WHY would you do an ozzfest ?? Make a maidenfest for the states with other bands on the bill like for example Damageplan, killswith engage and that sort of populair bands.

Maiden should stay as far away from SharonFest as possible....just grab Anthrax and Motorhead and hit the U.S highways blazing....although with a new Priest cd on its way and a new Maiden cd in the works , a Maiden Priest Anthrax show would be the best bang for my buck. headbang.gif
