Testament Guitarist Goes Jazz Maiden
The Alex Skolnick Trio will release 'Transformation', featuring guest guitarist Charlie Hunter and guest cellist Dave Eggar, through Magnatude/Magna Carta on the 14th September.The disc is said to include jazzy covers of such staples as Dio's 'Don't Talk To Strangers', Iron Maiden's 'The Trooper'. Judas Priest's 'Electric Eye' and Scorpions' 'Blackout'.

Unfortunately the only sample that wasn't working at the Magna Carta site was the one for 'The trooper' (link: Transformation samples at Magna Carta). Nice jazz covers though.
