Australia Is Too Expensive to Tour
Bruce Dickinson was interviewed by a Australian radio, Triple J, two days ago.The frontman stated very honestly that the band finds it hard to compromise the amount of gear they will tour with and that it would cost far too much money to bring it all down under.
The band would hence lose money by touring Australia.
Bruce himself would be ready for a stripped-down tour to please the fans, but some members of the Maiden camp don't see it that way.
So much for the logistical issues of Rod...

Haha
well - that's a shame... They shouldn't show that financial interest on touring - although everybody knows that fact....

I wouldn't like to lose 200000$ due to promoters booking small places...
That's not the only reason there's not been any Australian dates in a while.
Trouble in Australia has been that EMI hasn't promoted Maiden a lot, giving that Maiden wouldn't tour due to lesser sales. It became a vicious circle; for promotion, they needed to tour, but to tour they needed promotion.
I can see why they don't want to tour down under if the financial loss is major though.
