Fans React over Maiden's Treatment at Ozzfest
This is a message posted on the Iron Maiden Forums and it offers another viewpoint over the recent Ozzfest controversy ( read a full recap in here).Hi. This is Shawn Meuse, lead singer of IRON MAIDEN's Official Tribute band, Run To The Hills. This event is of no surprise. I was at the Hartford, CT show standing inside the soundboard area where I WITNESSED Black Sabbath's soundman fucking with Maiden's front of house and particularly Bruce Dickinson's mike channel. Maiden's first song, Wrathchild was NO front of house and there were several other sound issues. After the set, I went backstage with Doug Hall and we both spoke with Rod Smallwood regarding the issue. I've never seen Rod so pissed off. As a matter of fact, I've never seen Rod pissed off before. This was pretty lowball. I met Sharon Osbourne earlier that day and did a picture with her and she was very nice, but this is bullshit so now I'm ashamed to have it on our official site: wwww.runtothehillsusa.com Maiden rules and they were screwed by Osbourne. I can't believe she would stoop so low as to mess with their sound. Unbelievable.
By the way, I've known Bruce Dickinson for almost 10 years (for obvious reasons). He and the whole Maiden organization are super nice guys. No egos at all. Bruce is very friendly and has never ever been anything, but professional and warm to me and our band. Sharon Osbourne defamed him in public. I can't believe it. Oh, well. Up the Irons!
