Here are the latest updates from Kevin, the recent Iron Maiden producer.

Monday July11th 2005 - Stockholm, Sweden

The task at hand: apparently, the Iron Maiden shows broadcast across Scandinavia were very succesful! Not sure what that means either - were the kids in black Eddie T-shirts and associated Maiden paraphenalia dancing jigs all night 'til the sun rose over the graveyards of Vikings, eviley necromancing the night away!!! Could they see the demonic flames all the way from space?

Sunday July10th 2005 - somewhere between Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden

European vacation: We're on the X2000 fast train traveling at 200mph alongside still lakes shrouded by pine forests, and green meadows lapping red board farm houses between Gothenburg and Stockholm. Iron Maiden played a killer set last night at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, and I mixed the live audio feeding 26 million households around Scandinavia, and I think it turned out pretty well - it's quite a challenge mixing them direct to air - made even more complicated by there being NO soundcheck in advance. As Maiden manager and Sanctuary head honcho Rod Smallwood says in his Yorkshire voice, "Maiden don't soundcheck!". Anyway, it all worked out fine.

In the afternoon, Bruce regaled Josh with hours of aircraft history, flight instruction and all manner of naval warfare tales - and after the gig, Adrian swapped stories with him as he quaffed flavored vodka before the older women got their claws on the EnormoGoth and I had to finally extract him at 3am as we had an 8am train to catch

This could be a sign that the show will be used for a future DVD which Bruce hinted a few weeks ago.

Hmmm, it's not a bad idea at all, as many of the songs haven't been played live for ages and won't be played again. Anyway, they could always do a DVD about how they prepared the DVD of the tour supporting a DVD... lol[1].gif
