[SPOILER] Maiden Rips Up Norway
Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet has posted a review of Iron Maiden's concert at the Spektrum in Oslo last night. The original article is in Norwegian but kiyosaki of the Maiden BB has provided a translation:RATING: 5/6
Oh lord how wonderful. A concert packed with classics, either in the power of being melodic metal-highpoints, or less known songs immortalized through aeons of vorspiels all over the world. Nothing new here, no lowpoints, only spandex-dressed pearls from Iron Maidens heydays: The albums "Iron Maiden" (1980), "Killers" (1981), "The Number of the Beast" (1982) and "Piece of Mind" (1983). And for those of you going to Specrum tonight (Maiden are playing 2 nights) : Look forward to massive drums, triple guitar-attacks, double solos and gallopping bassrifs. The intro for "The Trooper" lifted the concert to the skies, not to mention when Bruce Dickinson sang as the heavy-caesar he truly is on "Remember Tomorrow", or when the audience overwent(?) him on "Run to the hills". Last one is as known well done. The rumours have been going about a Maiden at top form, and after 30 years in the service of rock the band showed that they still pleases and inspirers as pompous, spectacular and catching as ever. And new fans are obviously rising as well, because it was enough kids present, who polite and nicely have to ask their mums about playing Maiden at home. The rest of us got to relive our teenage.
Another review with a couple of pictures can be found here but it's in Norwegian. Maiden plays a second show at the Spectrum tonight from which reviews and pictures will be added to this post.
