Tyranny of Souls Review in Revolver Magazine
The latest edition of Revolver Magazine includes a review of Bruce Dickinson's Tyranny of Souls, and for a change this one isn't as positive as we're used to; the sub-headline for example being "Bruce Dickinson makes the most mediocre metal on his new solo effort"The review has been scanned and can be read by clicking on the following snapshots:

Links are working, BUT
what the fuck are they talking about.
I like Bruce's album and I don't care what these lame shits say about it!
Well, aside from the 'mediocre' sub-headline (very tabloid), it's a fairly balanced review. The problem with a lot of Maiden and Bruce reviews is the general gushing tone. You might not like it, but reviews are supposed to be critical.
heard short clips of bruces new album its sonds fantastic pitty a.smith did not help out on the recording of it but lookingg forward to it coming out
I agree totally with that review!
Especially the part about the guitar solos. They just don't show any kind of emotion to me. All in all (I know ppl will use that against me, but anyway) H is really missing on here to make it a great album.
I downloaded the album two weeks ago and i still play it in my MD....It rocks...its so heavy that i canĀ“t pull my socks up!
Great to know that Bruce still got it!
Thanx Bruce!
I think taking each track individually the album is 50% great and 50% average.
I kind of and kind of dont agree with the review. There are that that I like, such as Navigate the Seas of the Sun, Soul Intruders, Abduction, and Power of the Sun. Bruces vocals are amazing on the entire album which is nothing unusual. The thing that brings this album down is the mediocre sounding guitars. The guitars sound too muddy and his soloing fails to amaze me, although there are a few exceptions (IE: Abduction). He does write some nice riffs though (IE: Soul Intruders). A fair score for this album would be 4/5.
I think the reviewer was being too harsh on the album and did not give it enough time for it to grow on him. By the sounds of it, Im sure the reviewer listened to the album at the most two times before writting that review. He is obviously not a Bruce fan because no Bruce fan would dismiss an album from Bruce like that. Tyranny of Souls wasnt a pop album, therefor it didnt instantly appeal to the reviewer after the first two times he listened to it. End of story.
