More Charts Positions
As the week rolls, more charts positions are getting in.We already announced you that 'A Matter of Life and Death' was number 1 in Finland and in Italy.
Well, it also reached the first spot in Germany. Great news considering the competition and knowing that Maiden's two previous albums reached #3 and #2.
As already mentionned, the album reached #4 in the UK Charts after being #3 on the midweeks. A Maiden album is often frontloaded which partially explains this slip during the week. However, almost 45,000 have reportedly left the shelves !
In neighbouring Ireland, the album is at #5. In Poland, it's at #6. In the Netherlands, it's 7th and finally, down-under in Australia, it settled on place 12.

no. 1 in Germany for the first time! also the best position in Netherlands after 18 years (no. 4 in 1988)

where did you find the info that the album reached no.1 here in germany?
The info was given from EMI records.
hmm i was wondering if there is a mistake somewhere because on this side (http://www.spiegel.de/kultur/charts/0,1518,385592,00.html) they are 'just' on position 3 =/
but i think it's also a very good ranking... as i read they're no. 1 i nearly went crazy ;)
No, this are only World Of Music charts as you can see below, but we are talking about media control.
you're right, a friend of mine told me about media control and the positioning... my problem was that i never heard about it before ;) never was too interested in charts...
