"It Sounds Like MAIDEN, But Maiden Like You’ve Never Heard Us Before"
Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harris spoke to our good friends over at Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles for their magazine recently about the upcoming studio album, "A Matter Of Life And Death"."There’s lots of different bits of experimentation on it. The great thing is, it shows that we’re not hostages to fashion. It’s not like we’ve suddenly decided to go emo or anything like that. God forbid! It sounds like Maiden, but Maiden like you’ve never heard us before." commented Bruce Dickinson.
Steve Harris added, “Working with (producer) Kevin (Shirley) was brilliant. It’s all come together on this album. He knows what he wants, he knows what we want. The whole thing has been absolutely painless and really enjoyable. It’s a more live sounding record than before. We’ve tried so many recording techniques in the past that you wouldn’t believe it, but I really think we found a way to getting as close as we can to recreate the live sound."

Like all of us, I am very curious about this new album. Bruce seems to think it is a bomb. Remember in may 2000, before the release of brave new world, the guy was telling everyone the disc would be special, and he was right ! So i trust him for the new one.

Maiden is Emo, the first emo band ever..
salut a tous ! ....CULT is just brilliant mon ami ! I've heard it about 200 times, the lyrics are genials and super revolutionaires and the solos laisse tomber, I tell you if I hadn't problem with the sound of my pc, it wouldn't be just 200 times, but now everything is mute, in my house, dans le bureau, partout....also ( cult) has brought me a chance sacree to that point...(long story)what about the other songs you've mentioned ? they kill like it or what ? .......'bout maiden, I'm a little worry about the comments of that sweedish truc, 'if you liked BNW and DOD...." thing......it's not a proper way to wellcome a killer album, what do you think about that ?____no5

I am not worry about this swedish articles. Journalists always need to compare and be sure they only evoke BNW and DOD because new songs are long. The different comments of Maiden make me trusting about the songwriting and production qualities.
BNW and DOD were very good to me but Maiden can do more groovy.
For Slayer, Cult is a great fucking song, kicking my ass 4/5 times a day ! I heard the two other songs only 1 time and i had speaker problems but i can say it has the Slayer trademark. Although the beginning of Jihad disappoints me ! I really don't like it. Hope it will be the only shit of the new album.

A Matter Of Life And Death- is that the name of the album
It is just the beginning of Jihad who surprised me. It's difficult to describe but to me, this part of the song doesn't really sound like fuckin'Slayer. It didn't convinced me but it's just my opinion and the other parts are OK to me. And like i said, i have listened to it 1 time and the sound was awful so i will give it another chance on my stereo.
I have just read an article on Slayer and the journalist have listened to several songs of Christ Illusion. He says it blows (and in the good way). To be continued. Frenchfan.

Know it’s not forbidden by maidenfans.com to sometime talk about other bands. It also often happens on other forums and i like that. This time it was Slayer, maybe next time it will be Trivium, Led Zep, Hendrix, Deftones or something Else, so if you don’t like them, just don’t read my posts ! It’s all i can do for you. hello frenchfan, sorry I wasn't there to support you, but I won't have internet chez moi pour un mois !...for the record, I say to everybody here that slayer started as a maiden-priest cover band, so it's ALWAYS related to maiden.......I read something interesting in maidennorway.com, one journalist that was speaking of AMOLAD, that it's following the lines of previous 2, but much more awesome.......it's seems that all listeners ( as well as little-lucky-trouper) they are made of signing a non- speaking -of -album -contract....so, if someone get the leeks, please, don't keep it for himself...;)____no5
