US & Canada Dates Confirmed
Iron Maiden are pleased to announce they will be beginning their 2006 World Tour with eight dates across the USA and three dates in Canada starting October 4th in Hartford, CT.Tickets for the shows will start going on to the general public from the weekend of August 12th, with details of local box office and on-sale times at www.ironmaiden.com. Iron Maiden has also arranged for a special fan club pre-order for all shows beginning August 1 and running through to the public on-sale date. Details of this will be sent directly to them beforehand.
This follows the recent announcement that their highly anticipated new studio album 'A Matter Of Life And Death' will be released on September 5th on Sanctuary records.
Says Bruce Dickinson 'This is the first time we've started a tour in the States for many, many years. It's going to be great to get out there so the fans can get to hear the new material and see the new show first for a change. We're all incredibly pleased with the album, and the tremendous response of those people who have had the chance to hear it so far. Their reaction has been phenomenal and we expect to play a lot of it on tour.'
'We will be bringing the full show to America, which we are currently putting the final touches to, and we fully intend to make it as spectacular and memorable as we can. And of course, our mate Eddie has already booked a place on the plane with us'
On the topic of “A Matter of Life and Death,” Bruce comments, “This album has to be our best since working with Kevin Shirley (Producer). There is such a wide scope of musicianship on this album. Every one of us has put everything into this record and it's really paid off.'
The upcoming North American dates represent the beginning of the “A Matter of Life and Death World Tour,' which will continue into Japan and then travel through to Europe, finishing with 2 shows at London's Earls Court Arena just before Christmas. All the shows on the European leg have been on sale since March and reaction to the dates has been incredible, with the majority of shows already sold out months in advance.
Accompanying Iron Maiden on the USA tour (excluding the Hartford and Los Angeles ) are new UK metal sensation, Bullet for My Valentine, who have been receiving rave reviews while on tour with Guns N’ Roses throughout Europe.

as soon as those babies go up for sale, I'm picking up a block of them for the Toronto show. They blew away the crowd last summer with their oldies tour. Cant wait to hear the new material live. Last time I dragged out some friends who never heard Maiden before and they are now hooked. Up The Irons!

By knowing the selected dates then can we say that the Ozzfest tour did not turn out to be a success for Maiden. They toured to widen their fanbase and are only playing in some cities. Can it also be that they will be touring less like they had stated before?

They won't do a tour of all the states, because that would be a minimum of 50 dates. Considering the band said they were planning to do SHORTER tours, a 50 date US tour just isn't going to happen.
maiden stated in 2003 that the gimme ed tour was to be the last extensive tour of its kind.no more 35-50 date tours of north america.Maiden has stated that they will always return to eastern canada as well as the the american northeast which is their stronghold.I do believe that they will do a somewhat more extensive tour summer 07 or summer 08 to promote the mid years dvd release which will cover the powerslave,somewhere in time,seventh son and no prayer for the dying era just like the eddie rips up the world 05 spanned the 1st 4 albums,there will be a eddie takes over the universe summer 07 or 08 to span the next 4 albums....count on it!!!!!!!!
What the fuck is wrong with you people ??! It has been annonced a while ago that the band won't be doing long tour anymore. The US is not a big market for Maiden so they don't have time and money to waste in your country. The band was without a doubt the highlight of Ozzfest 2005, but unlike Motley Crue and a whole bunch of american band, Maiden can play outside the US to sold-out stadiums and arenas. Now, to my canadians friends who are wondering why there's only 3 dates in eastern Canada, well you should know by now that the province of Quebec is by far, the strongest market for Maiden in North America, period.
There was a rumor that they would also do a North American tour in January/February of about fifteen shows, including one in Mexico City and one in western Canada.
I dont think that they will come back in jan/feb there would be no point of doing the shows in oct then comeing back at teh end an dits already said htere finshing with 2 shows at London's Earls Court Arena
I'm dissappointed that they aren't coming anywhere near the South. I live in the Great Plains and really wanted to see them in Dallas. I guess I'll just save my money and catch them on their next tour. I'm just thankful that they still come to the US and are still making albums.

I am sorry to hear hear that Maiden won't be touring the southern part of the United States like Texas, it been almost three years already since they played in San Antonio. If the band could read this, I write on behalf of all Maiden fans here in Texas, we are dissappointed they are not coming here.

yeah im pretty pissed about there being no dallas, tx or any texas date. this tour is only in the north! wtf?! its been 3 years since they gave us a show down here, and that was the Give Me Ed... tour.
But if you recall in one of Bruce's more recent interviews, he says the tour ends next spring...so maybe Maiden will return to the States for another round and catch the places they missed?

There's many many countries where Maiden have never been or haven't toured for over 10 years despite of their fanbases. Seeing people complaining so widly that the band has not come to the Southern part of the US in the last 3 years looks ridiculous to me. Get a grip and be a little more appreciative. Last time I checked the world doesn't revolve around Texas.

i mean cmon, theres 8 U.S. dates, 5 of which are in New England, 2 of which are in New Jersey!! i think this was unnecessary..they couldve stuck with 2-3 shows in the northeast and still satisfied everyone up there who wanted to see them
Sure the world doesn't revolve around Texas, but they could have made a bigger tour schedule in the United States, especially if their already going to be here. The U.S. does have a huge fan base for Maiden, but for them not to have a major tour here is rather dissapointing.

y la quijada se me calló, con un ya clásico inicio lento acompañado de un relato oscuro que me recordó al clásico "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" para luego romper en un riff increíble acompañado de la gloriosa voz de Bruce que se encuentra en su mejor momento.
Definitivamente mas "heavy" que lo anteriormente escuchado en "DOD"
la única mejora que haría es al final de la canción donde Bruce sostiene "To exorcise this hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll" hubiera querido que lo alargara un poco más al estilo de "Hallowed Be Thy Name" pero aun así suena increíble!

Hello Boys from Texas...I'm really sorry for you I understand the pain of not seeing Maiden...We are dam fucking lucky to live in Quebec because I'm gonna go see both shows!! I already hear Maiden!!!
