Bruce: "In 2010 We Will Edit a New Studio Album"

on March 27, 2009 @ 23:06

The following review is courtesy of Livinginperu.com:

"Good evening, Lima. We are very pleased to be here. This is our first concert in your country, but it will not be the last," were Dickinson's first words to the absolutely euphoric audience estimated at something between 35,000 and 40,000 fans, who had gathered from all over Peru.

The band members were thrilled with the almost 40 thousand spectators who packed the National Stadium, a record attendance in Peru. "They're a wonderful audience", said Dickinson.

Peruvian supporting band Massacre opened the show, followed by Lauren Harris, daughter of bassist Steve Harris. Afterwards, it was Iron Maiden's turn: the lights went out, the audience went silent and then after a few seconds, the giant screen displayed images of the band with the Transylvania background.

And then the the almost 2-hour long concert started, with a great selection of Iron Maiden's best songs. A large number of fans had camped around the venue since the previous day, to make sure they would get a place in the first rows. Reportedly, some fans even came from Ecuador and Bolivia.

Iron Maiden's lead vocalist promised this will not be the last time they come to Peru: "In 2010 we will edit a new studio album, and in two years, we will return to this beautiful country", he said.
