Tour programmes help trace Adrian Smith’s early guitar crew
GhostofCain checked a personal collection of tour programmes in response to a question about Maiden's guitar technicians. The account identifies Peter Kirkman as Adrian Smith's technician in 1982, Marcus Cowe as responsible for his backline in 1983 and Rob Price as taking over in 1984. GhostofCain guesses that Cowe's death explains the change, citing the Powerslave dedication and a World Slavery programme photograph. The programmes have not been independently checked. In a 2001 interview, Marcus's brother, Lindisfarne's Simon Cowe, recalls Marcus working as a Maiden guitarist's roadie, but is unsure whether the guitarist's name was Glen. GhostofCain reads this as Adrian; the identity remains unresolved.
