Mark Wilkinson recalls Steve Harris’s choice of black album covers
Steve Harris chose the plain black backgrounds for The Book Of Souls and Senjutsu, according to their artist Mark Wilkinson. In a Hotel Hobbies interview, Wilkinson recalls planning more background detail for The Book Of Souls before Harris suggested keeping the front stark and revealing the larger scene inside. He says the Senjutsu interior took four or five months, and explains how his habit of revising details earned him the credit “The Tinkerer”.
