A 1997 news page records the cancellation of Melt
An archived Iron Maiden news page from September 1997 records the cancellation of Melt, with Blaze Bayley dismissing the proposed game as “crap”. The announcement says Synthetic Dimensions was developing a replacement shoot-'em-up built around a pursuit of Eddie, expected the following spring. Perun found the page while discussing the games and identifies the replacement as Ed Hunter, a separate project rather than a continuation of Melt. The 1997 announcement itself does not name the replacement.
