Blaze a Wacken

Check this good review about Blaze's performance at Wacken 2002 on Metalgospel.com. Unfortunatly the web site ignored Bruce Dickinson concert - "Hartmuth: We got some dinner (overpriced as Hell) and some BRUCE DICKINSON (from afar... sounded ok but nothing spectacular) to bridge the time until CANDLEMASS started to play."

[Hartmuth: After a 15 minute rain squall which we spent hiding at a beer stand (o.4 liters of beer = 3 Euro) we got to see BLAZE. The short rain had settled the black dust that was everywhere and for almost 50 minutes things felt like they would turn out right. We couldn´t have been more wrong... BLAZE was really cool and since we had met some more net friends in the meantime we were a happy little crowd banging our heads away. BLAZE showed impressively that he´s off much better without MAIDEN and that he can very well stand and survive on his own.]

I completely agree. BLAZE was the hightlight of Thursday for me. To be honest I wasn´t expecting that much since I don´t own any of his solo material and was very soured by his work with MAIDEN but this night has changed my view entirely. A kick ass and very powerful performance ! Now I´ve just got to go out and purchase some BLAZE albums...
