A big epic song
* Iron Maiden news - well, we've two lead vocals to go!!! And then we should be able to start mixing towards the end of next week. As many of you Maiden fans know, there is a big epic song - a historic overview of a battle, and we had some orchestration done on it by Jeff Bova, and I have included an excerpt from his notes, to whet your appetites, and wet your panties!"Whew! This was a big one. Used full strings with French horns and Orchestral percussion. I also created some sound design options. (In) the final chorus I used the cannon like sounds with tubular bells to get an 1812 overture effect. .....these are all options to play with. Picturing the dying soldier on the battlefield, I did some sounds like whispers which I call "Dead Souls", I imagined it like the sound of all the other dead soldiers on the "other side" awaiting their comrade to die(Very 2001'ish). A hawk cry, symbolizing a warrior being beckoned to wherever heroes are called to after death. A distant boys choir suggesting perhaps the innocence lost by all those who fought. The whole song is so cinematic I thought of these effects as supporting film like images."
Doesn't that sound fantastic!!! Hope you love it! Now we're just waiting for Bruce!!!
