Galicia will be the world-wide capital of heavy by a day. The legendary British band Iron Maiden will play in May in A Corunna. After twenty-three years of race, the emperors of the metal will act for the first time in Galicia (FALSE, IT´S THE SECOND), says Ramon Barros, director of the Coliseo, where the spectacle will be celebrated.
Sources of Gamerco, the promotional company of the Spanish tour of the group, confirmed yesterday that Iron Maiden "will open their world tour his tour in A Corunna". The 19 of May the scene in ¿¿multiusos?? Gallego will begin to settle. The members of the band will be "two or three days" in the city trying that first performance.
The 23 of May will shake their hair in A Corunna and on the following day they will do it in Gijón. To Spain they will return in May (False in June) to touch in Madrid, Barcelona and San Sebastián. These three cities already were scales of their last world-wide tour, made between June of the 2000 and January of the 2001, composed by 80 performances and that took to them by Europe, South America, Central America, EE.UU., Canada and Japan.
Number one
During the last concert of that tour, celebrated in Rio de Janeiro, they recorded a double disc in direct. The video, published in VHS and DVD, was number one of sales in Great Britain. Gamerco stresses that the band will be led in A Corunna by Bruce Dickinson, their charismatic singer, who left the group during seven years and returned in 1999. The last formation with which Iron Maiden crossed the world was the formed one by Dickinson (singing), Steve Harris (bass), Janick Gers (guitar), Adrian Smith (guitar), Dave Murray (guitar) and Nicko McBrain (drums).
Iron Maiden, one of the three great bands of the history of heavy along with Metallica and AC/DC, have published 21 discs from 1980. The last one, Edward the Great , was published at 2002. In the cover it appeared Eddie (the Edward of the title), the mascot of a group that takes its name from an instrument of torture of ¿¿Santa Inquisición??
