Nicko's involvment in 7x70 is denied by Sanctuary Artists Management:“Sadly for all you scoop hounds it is not Apr. 1st as far as we know. This "story" is total bollocks. Nicko and Danny Spitz did some music together it is true and they discussed over the phone with Dave Ellefson about him possibly taking some part at some stage. However Nicko's Maiden schedule and Dave's current plans stop this going any further. So whoever jumped many bridges to get to this conclusion should be congratulated on their fertile imagination and we recommend they write a story about schoolboy magicians. Enough said.”

The whole story...
It seemed to have all started when [url=http://www.danspitz.com/bio.html]Dan[/url] received "[i]A phone call from Nicko McBrain [where he] said "I'll play with you Dan. Come on down and lets see if we can create the next level of music as you always do."[/i]
Why not did the majority of us say... until... the news that left some of us in shock: [url=http://www.knac.com/article.asp?ArticleID=1760]Knac.com[/url] announced that the project, called '7x70', had casted Vanilla Ice as its singer!
Bollocks ? No, since Dan Spitz's official website relayed it on its [url=http://www.danspitz.com/press.html]press section[/url] !
The [url=http://7times70.com/]7x70 website[/url] was launched shortly thereafter and the main page proudly showed a trivia which asks to guess who the members are. Here's the pic for the drummer:

Is it me or is the hidden person looking like Nicko ?

Anyway, Dan (or his management) seemed pretty much sure of the whole thing... until yesterday

Big rumbling in the house: the mainpage of Dan's official website is updated to that it now tells Dan is looking for people for his 7x70 band and the BB thread is retitled "Who [i]should[/i] play drums with Dan" 
But meanwhile, the press section still relays the news announcing Vanilla Ice, Nicko and Dave as members and the 7x70 website still shows the 'hidden-Nicko' pic 
Pretty messy, heh ? Ah, the world of rumors. You gotta love it sometimes !
So, was Dan being too optimistic about his new band ? Maybe. Were Blabbermouth and Knac too fast to jump to conclusions ? Of course, that's their speciality. Should Dan go back to watch making ? He is very good at that at least. Is Elvis really dead ? Dunno...
I leave it to you there. Time will tell.
