4-6 More Maiden DVD's To Be Released?

on November 10, 2004 @ 14:15

According to mf666 of the Maiden BB, he recently spoke to Nicko about various Maiden-related things. He posted the complete "interview" along with some pictures here. Most of it is well-known already, but some interesting pieces were included:

"Four to six DVDs could and probably will be out later, but there's nothing planned on how many there'll be in the end"

Nicko also mentioned that the 2005 summer tour dates are all confirmed. Dates for Germany will be out next week, and maybe some more for Europe too.

As we have nothing but Maiden BB poster's word on the accuracy of this info, it's put as a rumour until confirmed.

Well if theyre going to go through the band's history like the did with the early days then it's going to take a fair few dvds. Cant wait biggrin.gif Especially if there will be one involving the Blaze years.

I seem to recall Rod saying (in an interview posted in the main news forum) that Vol 2 of the History series would probably go through Fear of the Dark era. So it's reasonable to guess that Vol 3 will cover the Blaze years through the present.

Also, we've heard for a long time that a DoD tour DVD is in the works.

There's 3 titles right there. I know LAD is rumored to be part of History Vol 2, but I still hope it's released separately. It's important enough to deserve its own package. Plus, if they keep it as part of Vol 2, that leaves less room for other interesting bits. LAD separate and Maiden England as part of Vol 2 would be perfect.

Also, Nicko (allegedly) said 4 to 6 DVDs, not 4 to 6 separate titles. He may have been counting a 2-disc title as 2 DVDs.

I don't think that the DOD DVD will be part of the series. But parts could be kept for a future DVD which could include part of the DOD tour.

Cheers

Through to fear of the dark? I would be slightly disapointed with that. After all a lot of important things happened and there were some great shows from powerslave to 7th son. I think they should do the next one with powerslave, somehwhere and 7th son. The amount of quality shows, not to mention live after death and maiden england is enough to fill a 2 disc set as it is. That was probably my favourite time period for maiden during those 3 albums. I dont know what they'll decide to do.

There's talk that apart from these DVD, full concert will be featured in single DVD in the future.

Don't know if this can be taken as accurate. But we know Maiden releases a lot these days biggrin.gif

Cheers
