I can't believe this.
Who did this? I need details
about the production. The vocals
seems to be Bruce but did they
rerecord it or produce it with
computers from the orginal?

Didn't really have the time to look for more details but will do another day. If you find anything, post it in here.

The band is called 'Group X'.

If you listen to all the songs, it seems that it's one guy singing them all. His voice can be compared to Bruce, but it might well be doctored a lot (protools...) !

Cheers

I 'm really in shock.
I passed this info to IMBB.
The voice sounds so much like Bruce.
I though they had masters and played
with it.

This has been previously released in Finland. Singer in the Maiden tracks is Anthony from http://www.machinemen.net/. All musicians are from Finland. Machine Men samples: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~jvh/machinemen/downloads.php.

If I ever have to go to a trendy nightclub again I hope I can hear those. It's better than any dance music I've ever heard before but it is shocking anyone could let them do that lol[1].gif

Maiden and their management are certainly aware of such "remixes". The question is: how do they feel about it? Another question would be: do they get royalties on these tracks?

I think you will all appreciate those versions a lot more when you hear these: http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF145115-01.htm

I haven't yet listened to the songs but it seems to me that they were made just for fun.
I don't think any of the bands (including Maiden) don't like this idea.
One of the reasons they don't care is because they maybe get paid for the songs and so they leave happy.
Damn it! I can't listen to the songs.

Can someone post a direct link?

Thanks

Dance is, as you all may know, the devils work. This is perhaps the saddest moment in Maiden History, as it will give all the braindead morons who think metal is satanic, a first ever reasonable argument....

The songwriter (Steve Harris, in this case) receives royalties for cover versions. The rest of the band gets zip.

I would imagine Steve wouldn't keep all of it for himself. When you look at it, the guys did their own solos (which probably weren't covered, but still) and they likely had some sort of agreement on certain things, just not large enough to get a credit.

You'd probably have to talk with Rod to see how all this works...

That is absolutley shocking, so dance music has finally realised how crap it is and used Heavy Metal to help it, obviously someone in the dance/pop realsied just how good heavy metal is! headbang.gif

Whilst I really do like dance music (decent stuff, not chart and radio stuff), these are shockingly bad.

btw, if you think I'm being silly about liking dance, check out Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher, DJ Shadow... all make some pretty heavy and messed up music and they're all extremely talented as well!

I used to be a big dance music fan, but over the past few years, its just become...well....crap! Some of the stuff out there is shocking. I started listening to Ozzy a few years back, then my brother asked if i wanted to go see Maiden at Newcastle in December 2003, so i listened to SIT a few weeks before going...and have been hooked ever since. Heavy metal can be amazing music, with much feeling and amazing musicians. Just like Iron Maiden and most of their work then headbang.gif

Well that wasnt intended, but now it reminds me of it too, maybe my sub concious (spelling?) was singing the song, and so thats why i typed something to do with it 'burning' lol[1].gif

Yes, it's true, but you've forgotten the publisher who administrates the Maiden songs :
- Zomba Music Publishers Ltd. for all Maiden Songs untill Brave New World
- BMG Music Publishing International Ltd. since Dance of Death
- With Warner/Chappell Music Ltd. for the song written with Bruce since he's back (33,3%)

And Steve will never knows how much he will gain with this er..... thing : no distinction if the song is played by Iron Maiden or anybody else. And anyone's got the right to play any song if he pays royalties to the publisher (who share the money out between the songwriters... and himself of course)

Well, I think this is a good thing for fun.

I must admit. I love cover versions !

No matter how crap it is ! No matter how strange it sounds ! I really like to listen songs I know (and in this case, well-known and loved) in other versions.

I totally understand you. I have a feeble point for cover versions, no matter how bad they are. I actually prefer those to ones made by doom-black-gruesome-whatever metal. biggrin.gif

Me too. Think it is because this is evidence that all other musicians look up to Maiden. All time greatest cover is Angra - Wasted Years (Live acousic). I dl every cover I can get my hands on biggrin.gif, BUT I draw the line with dance/rap/trance.......
