FFF Bashes Maiden Fans
In an interview to Student Direct, Gareth Davies, the bassist of Funeral Of A Friend, who opened for Maiden on the past tour, says this:"its not as strange as the tour we did with Iron Maiden, because their fans were abusive as fuck."

well, he's right - the majority of the fans was very abusive and intolerant. Of course, it was a big mistake to let them do the support - but that's no reason to call them arseholes or stupid wankers all the time. They were there and did their job rather well - even if I didn't like their music that much.
I can clearly see why he's pissed off. I was a bit ashamed of the reactions the crowd was showing in Dortmund, but then I thought "well, there are tons of idiots here who aren't real Maidenfans". Anyway, I see where the guy is coming from and it must have been absolutely terrible for them.

I can see this comment causing riots but I think the ones who will complain the most about this comment are the ones who shouted abuse in the first place

I think Funeral for a friend was a good band but everyone just wanted to see maiden! This summer, Murderdolls was TOTALLY ignored by the audience, exept for all those who trew coins on them...
Why can't REAL bands ever open for Maiden? 
Well, the way they performed they could expect this. People came for Iron Maiden, which is one of the best live bands in the world. The singer was just staring at his feet, there was no show, there where a few guys who almost seemed to be ashamed of themselves. They didn't show any kind of self confidence, something you're gonna need tons of when you support Iron Maiden.
They're bitchin' while every sane person knows you can expect an audience which has come for an evening of good show, not some guys who play shitty music and stare at the 'kin ground without reason. There was just no interaction with the public.
Vinnie says: FFOF, shut the fuck up. you're not by far as good as maiden and you'll never be, you could at most become a one-day fly, take it like a man. If you can't, stop music and get a normal job.
Well, do you all remember that hilarious sound file of Henry Rollins mocking Maiden fans reacting at an opening band ?

What can you expect from Maiden fans...
It's a shame that in some respects theyre the best fans in the world. Other times they can really be dissapointing
You all know the Maiden fans. They want to see Maiden. For an example I read in a review of the Stockholm gig that FFF's backdrop fell down and suddenly the crowd started cheering
It depends on whether or not the openers are well-known to Maiden fans. The last 2 times I've seen Maiden, the openers have been Halford, Queensrhyche (sp?), Motorhead and Dio, all long-established bands ... and they all got great receptions here in Denver. Even Dio, whose band really sucked (although Ronnie James himself was great).
