Jamie Cullum Likes Iron Maiden
Jamie Cullum, the jazz sensation who was another winner with Maiden at the Nordoff-Robbins Awards last June, always has rock influences in his music. But he wasn't always that open towards his past: "I even lied in interviews about where I found out about jazz - 'I went through my parents' record collection ... Oscar Peterson from the age of 14'. Bollocks. I was listening to Iron Maiden." (New Zealand Herald).
As time passed by, some of his influences finally got in:
"I used to play a lot of weddings, and at one the best man asked me to come up with a song that was massively inappropriate," he says. "His idea was 'The Lady Is a Tramp,' and I thought that had been done before. So I did a swing version of Iron Maiden's 'Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter.' It went down a storm."

I've added it to our trivia box rotation rather than our news page. I think it's better there
Edit... I like Cullum and I will move it as news. Anyway, there's no much to report about Maiden these days.
And it will teach some Maiden fans about who Cullum is, since so many asked after looking at pictures of him with Maiden at the Nordoff Awards last june.
Keep it as a trivia, it's a very nice one.

Edited the whole stuff and added the picture at the end (was already featured in our news concerning the awards).

Added a new part concerning Cullum where he states that, while young, he listened to Maiden and not Jazz like he used to state on interviews.

Cullum's not joking at all when he talks about being influenced by rock music. I head some songs from his latest album, including a really good jazz version of Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary". If his Maiden interpretations are as good as the Hendrix song, then I hope he releases it someday!
