Live After Death Named High on Live Albums List
German music magazine Eclipsed listed the top 50 live albums of all times in their October 2004 issue. This magazine, having started out as a Pink Floyd fanzine, is one of the biggest covering specifically art and progressive rock. It never fails to cover the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands (an issue in late 2003 had an interview with Janick Gers).
The top 3 live albums of all times were 'Seconds Out' by Genesis (1), 'Live At Leeds' by The Who (2) and 'Made In Japan' by Deep Purple (3).
Iron Maiden's 'Live After Death' made spot no. 21, beating prestigious live releases such as 'Under A Blood Red Sky' by U2 (22), 'MTV Unplugged' by Nirvana (25) and 'If You Want Blood You've Got It' by AC/DC (34).
A quick review is included underneath each title:
From 14th to 17th March 1985, Iron Maiden played four sold-out gigs at Long Beach Arena in Los Angeles during the tour to their album "Powerslave", where their first and only live LP of the eighties was recorded. With "Live After Death", their status as sole Heavy Metal Kings was confirmed for the last time to absolutely everyone, since they would "dare" to experiment with synthesizers in the second half of the eighties.
When "siren" Bruce Dickinson animates the audience and two absolutely sufficient and perfectly trained guitarists create a sound carpet, which, despite being earthly, at least carries up to the height of mascot "Eddie" on the stage, everybody should notice that "Live After Death" is one of the best live albums by one of the best bands ever.

Some other releases in the list include 'Live-Bursting Out' by Jethro Tull (16), 'P.U.L.S.E.' by Pink Floyd (14) and 'How The West Was Won' by Led Zeppelin (7).
